The story of my experience as an Erasmus+ student in Latvia

My name is Jorgji Mançi and I am studying Biology-Chemistry in the second year of master’s degree at “Fan S. Noli” University, Albania. This semester, I have the opportunity to be part of an Erasmus+ exchange program at Daugavpils University, Latvia for five months. The application was provided by the University where I study. The reason why I decided to participate in the Erasmus+ program is the possibility of expanding theoretical knowledge and practical skills in my field of study. I hope that studying here will provide me with a good opportunity to find a job or engage in research works in the future. I think these kinds of experiences help everyone understand themselves better and it helps a lot with self-reflection. I chose to come here with Erasmus+ because besides the  studies, it is a good opportunity to meet new friends and learn more about other cultures, which I think is very valuable. At first I was totally confused, but now I can say that I am enjoying every day here. I have learned more about the city, made new friends and we are having a great time together. Practical classes in the subject of Biology are my favorite part because I can apply all the new knowledge I get, and the University offers all the conditions to make this possible.

I wish every student to have such experiences to develop their personal and professional skills. Everyone should focus on self-growth in different areas. Social life is very active for young and international students. The most important thing is to enjoy every moment. Even if some moments can be experienced again, the emotions of some special moments are unrepeatable.
